APPLE - Semi-Dwarf & Standard

20-30' Tall x 15-20' Wide
Apples are generally not self-fertile.  Two varieties should be used in each planting to serve as a source of pollen for the other variety.  Early bloomers should be planted with Mid-season.  Late bloomers with Mid season or other Late bloomers.

Espalier

Four varieties trained on espalier; semi-dwarf.  Zone 4

Fuji

Round to conical fruit with red stripes; very sweet, semi-dwarf.  Zone 4

Gala

Red skin tinted with yellow streaks; juicy; sweet; ripens early September; semi-dwarf.  Zone 4

Goodland

Early season, washed red over creamy green; crisp, juicy, tender;  best for cold regions.  Hardy  Zone 2-3

Granny Smith

Very tart.  Pollinates with Red Delicious/Gala.  Zone 5

Haralson

Semi-dwarf; medium bright red; tart; juicy; hardy; eating; cider; cooking.  Zone 2-3

Hazen

Semi-dwarf; 10-15' tall; large, dark red fruit.  Zone 3

Honeycrisp

Exceptionally crisp and juicy eating; good storage.  Pollinator:  Red Delicious and Snowdrift Crabapple.  Zone 4

Johnathon

Ripens early October; medium-large red; juicy, crisp white flesh; semi-dwarf.  Zone 4

McIntosh

Mid-season; large red striping over yellow; juicy.  Zone 3

Red Delicious

Mid to late season; large, tart red; semi-dwarf.  Yellow Delicious is a good pollinator.  Zone 4

Wealthy

Small, cold-hardy, medium to large, rough red flesh.  White and pink fruit.  Tends to alternate bearing years.  Zone 4

Yellow Deliciuos

Also known as Golden Delicious; clear, yellow, crisp; all purpose; semi-dwarf.  Self fertile.  Zone 4

Yellow Transparent

Summer; medium greenish yellow white juicy fruit.  Zone 4

APRICOT

Moongold

Ripens late July to early August; tough orange skin with yellow flesh; freestone; cold-hardy, requires pollinizer such as Sun Gold.  Zone 4

Sun Gold

Ripens early August; tender golden-orange fruit; freestone; vigorous, upright tree; requires pollinizer such as Moongold.  Zone 4

CHERRY

Northstar

Genetic dwarf 4-7' tall; self fertile; sour pie cherry with a small stone.  Zone 4

Montmorency

Large, tart fruit; self fertile; semi-dwarf.  Zone 4-5

PEAR

Many available Pears are zone 5.  Bartlett and d'Anjou can winter over but, probably will not produce fruit.

Parker/Summercrisp

Pears; may be good!  Zone 4

PLUM/PRUNE

All the available Plums are Zone 5.  They can winter over but not likely to produce fruit.
